Rufus Calvery Justice, age 83, of Grapevine Road, Phyllis, KY, passed away, January 7, 2017 at his home. He was born in Pike County, January 12, 1933, the son of the late Flem and Fonnie Justice. Rufus was a retired school teacher as well as a member of Gabriel Church of Christ of Kimper. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Besides both of his parents, Rufus is preceded in death by his wife, Neva Jo Justice; brothers, Malcom Dean Justice, Dan Justice, Phillip Justice, Fon Blake Justice & Jerry C. Justice; one sister, Geraldine Justice.
Rufus is survived by his wife, Linda Justice; one son Rufus Micheal Justice of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Tammie (Johnny) Pugh and Lesha (Kevin) Prater, all of Pikeville, KY; eight grandchildren, Kacey Boyd, Brandi Nichols, Devin Gray, Kassidy Prater, Jon Benjamin Pugh, Rachel Pugh, Travis Justice, Layton Justice; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Lassie Rogers, Frona Bevins, Sue Kunz; and three brothers, Bob Justice, Darrell Justice, and Dolan Justice.
He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will accept friends at Thacker Memorial Chapel, Monday, January 9, 2017 at 6:00 PM and Tuesday, January 10, 2017 with services at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM with burial following at Johnson Memorial Gardens. Joe Horn and Jack Horn will officiate all services with DAV Honors observed by the Johns Creek Chapter #166.
