Peggy Ann Wooten Childers, 73, of Pikeville, KY formerly of Hellier, KY, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Georgetown Community Hospital. She was born March 6, 1944 to the late James and Nana Lee Ratliff Wooten in Pikeville, KY.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband: Archie Lee Childers; two Children: Penny Faye Childers and Anthony Wayne Childers; one Brother: James Wooten.

Peggy is survived by her Daughter: Lee Ann (Rodney) Holland of Georgetown, KY; one Sister: Patsy (Boo) Blanton of Pikeville, KY; one Brother: David (Alice) Wooten of Danville, VA; three Grandchildren: Christa Elise Childers, Kyle Patrick Holland and Cloie Elizabeth Ann Holland.

Peggy was a member of the Hellier Missionary Baptist Church and she took great pride in all her social actvities for the church. She was employed for many years as a school bus driver & she loved & protected every child. She faced many battles in her life, but Peg endured. Her faith was strong. She loved her family, her community and was a friend to all.

Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 6PM with a service beginning at 7PM. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1PM with Greg Whitetree and Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
