James Chaney 76, of Regina, KY passed away Tuesday January 23, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, KY.
He was born April 26, 1941 in Pikeville, KY, to the late Jonathan Ira & Minerva “Tucker” Chaney.
In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Rowan & five brothers, Woodrow, Buster, Percy, Taulby & Ben Chaney.
James is survived by his loving wife of fifty five years, Joyce “Justice” Chaney of Regina, two sons, James Dwight Chaney; his wife Darlene of Pikeville, KY; Jonathan Dwayne Chaney, his wife Linda of Georgetown, KY; two daughters, Robin Denese Burke & Donna Jean Wiles, her husband Chris all of Pikeville, KY, ten grandchildren,Valerie Chaney, Devyn Chaney, Kyle Chaney, Kris Burke, Cameron Burke, LaDawn (Will) Brown, Joshua Chaney, Colin Wiles, Owen Wiles & Easton Wiles; two great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Brown & Blake Chaney & one sister Mae Roundtree of NV.
James was a hardworking coal miner. He was a devoted husband, father & great-grandfather. James will be forever loved and missed by all who knew and treasured him.
The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Chapel Thursday and Friday January 25, & January 26, 2018 from 6:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M. with services each night a 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. with Lick Creek Holiness ministers officiating all services. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
